Hello lovies!!! Oh I’ve missed hearing about all of your crazy lives. Mine has been crazy hectic lately, between classes and traveling, I’ve barely had time to check my email!!
Thursday night I boarded a massive double-decker bus to travel 9 hours to SYDNEY!! I found this bossy piece at a health food store in town and knew it needed to be included in my bus snacks.
mmmm larabar goodness in Australia. finally!
After popping 2 Tylenol PM’s, I was pretty much out for the count. I got off the bus at each rest stop to stretch my legs, but as a whole I pretty much slept the entire time, which was awesome. The only 2 things that got me through it was
A. knowing I was NOT taking the bus back
and
B. Tylenol PM ![]()
Once we arrived and checked into the hostel, it was time for some Sydney exploring. Guess what i just stumbled upon…
yup, I touched the Sydney Opera House. After staring in awe for awhile, it was time for tourist attraction number two.
And yes, I did splurge and spend the too much money to climb to the top. Which basically means I was standing right next to the, flags at the top! It was one of the most amazing experiences, and I’m so glad I didn’t let my fear of heights get in the way of me doing the climb. The only scary part was the wood on the way out. I just do not trust wood to walk on that high above the ground. game steel baby.
To celebrate the magnificent climb, we headed over to the oldest brewery in Sydney for some ice cold brews. I chose a pint of the 3 sheets
It was really good and so refreshing on such a hot hot day. Quality beer makes such a difference taste wise. I was wish a bunch of girls who don’t like beer (blasphemy I know!) but they liked this one. I’m pretty sure anyone who says they don’t like beer just hasn’t had a good one yet.
The rest of the afternoon was spent wandering around the city, exploring and snapping way too many pictures( if there is such a thing). We lost track of time, and had to race back to the hostel in order to be ready for dinner in time. The whole crew headed over to a bar for dinner and drinks, but unfortunately it was so dark the pictures are just awful. I’ll just let you know I had the most tasteless pasta and some very tasty (free) beers. Got to love all inclusive trips ![]()
We were up pretty early the next morning because we were headed out to the Blue Mountains for a hike. We walked down to the kitchen to see what breakfast was, and I was disgusted to see an entire table covered in McDonalds mcmuffins of all sorts. I bee lined to the 7/11 next door and ended up with a nice apple and some granola, and the crisis was averted. phew
The roomie and I woke up Monday morning craving coffee out of a mug. They only give it to us in takeout cups on campus, and there really is nothing like drinking coffee out of a mug. We set out to find a coffee shop that was going to indulge us, and sure enough there was one right around the corner.
the roomies lovely latte in a mug!!
Despues de cafe, we set out to get lost around the city once more. Found this hilarious sign at a local coffee shop
Start my heart puhlease!
A few more from the wandering of the day
check out the colors on the bird!
beautiful planters in the middle of the city
I had a rather uneventful plane ride home. I took my first attempt at Sudoku, and failed miserably. Numbers and I are just not meant to be. OH WELL. I’ll stick to muh crosswords thx.
Tuesday I woke up and did something I have not done since arriving in Australia.
OATS IN A JAR!!
I took this puppy, and filled it with
-
oat bran
-
a few drops of stevia
-
a chopped green apple
-
and a spoon
yum
It’s been a snacky sort of day, so I munched on this pear a few hours later.
Followed a little while later by these gems I found at the dollar store.
They are spicy and just delish. And you can’t beat the fact that they’re a dollah!
I know I’ve been awful at keeping up on eats lately, but life here has gotten crazy busy and exciting. Just know that it’s been a lot of pears, a lot of salad and the occasionally veggie sushi. I promise I’ll get better at picturas soon, but unfortunately as I’m eating from a dining hall, the food pretty much looks the same every time. There are only so many ways for me to make the same sushi roll look different!!
This weekend is going to be spent here, doing wayyyy too much homework, so you may see me a little more often than you have been because, well, I LOVE to procrastinate ![]()
adios chicassssssssss

I just wanted to comment and say that your name rocks! Haha. But I saw you recently purchased Dark Chocolate Dreams PB from PB&Co.–I haven’t tried that yet, but if you like waffles, I suggest Kashi or Van’s waffles with PB&Co.’s maple PB…delish!
